At the start of 2010 we moved our son to King Edward VII Preparatory School(“Keps” to all but the headmaster) and it proved, without a doubt, to be the right decision. Sport, academics and cultural aspects aside we’re regularly surprised at how pro-active the school is in dealing with potential problems.

Over and above the weekly school newsletter the school has a (welcome) habit of sending out letters dealing with day-to-day issues. Today’s letter from the headmaster, Mr Foote, was particularly interesting as it focused on the use of social media and how parents should use (or not use) it.

It’s not that different from the newsletter which discouraged parents from “talking in the parking lot” but I’m impressed that this school is not afraid to confront these digital issues head-on.

I hope Mr Foote won’t mind but I have posted a copy of his letter. Well done, sir.
